The College Football Playoff welcomes new broadcast partner starting in 2024

ESPN has been the exclusive home of the College Football Playoff for the first ten seasons, with a contract in place until at least 2032. However, starting in 2024, fans will also be able to catch College Football Playoff games on a different network. The College Football Playoff has announced that ESPN has sublicensed the rights to two first-round games to TNT Sports. TNT will exclusively air two first-round games for each of the next five seasons, and will also broadcast a pair of quarterfinal games in 2026, 2027, and 2028.

This move comes as Warner Bros., the parent company of TNT, along with Fox, recently announced a new sports streaming platform called Venu Sports that is set to launch this fall. The College Football Playoff is expected to be accessible on this new streaming app, further expanding the ways fans can watch the games.

The College Football Playoff is set to introduce a 12-team format this season. The top four seeds, chosen by the selection committee, will receive a bye, and the first-round matchups will be played on campus sites. With TNT now broadcasting two games and ESPN airing the other two, fans will have more options for where to watch the action unfold.

Quarterfinal games will take place in the Fiesta Bowl, Peach Bowl, Rose Bowl, and Sugar Bowl, while the semifinals will be held in the Orange Bowl and Cotton Bowl. The national championship game is scheduled to be played in Atlanta on January 20.

In other college football news, Penn State is moving ahead with stadium renovation plans to enhance the winterization of the venue in hopes of hosting a College Football Playoff game in the upcoming season.
