The Funhouse Science Fair Returns

Come join us at the Funhouse Commons for our 20th Science Fair, taking place on Saturday, April 27th from 12-4 p.m. This exciting event first began in 2001 with the goal of celebrating and inspiring the amazing discoveries made by young scientific minds. After a hiatus of four years, we are thrilled to announce the return of this beloved tradition, now revitalized and ready to bring excitement back to our community.

All Orcas K-12 students are encouraged to register their projects, and we also invite community members who have an interest in conservation and environmental science to participate. If you would like to be a vendor or volunteer at the science fair, please contact Ryan@thefunhouse.org. Our Science Fair, themed around Earth Day, will feature free food and beverages, live music, community exhibits, and, most importantly, the impressive creations of our young participants.

Every participant will receive an award, with top prizes being selected by our esteemed wandering wizards in elementary, middle, and high school categories. The prestigious Richie Moore “Rocket Ship of Wonder” will be awarded to the top three best-in-show science projects. Prizes include $500 for 1st place in the high school category, $250 for 1st place in middle school, and $100 for 1st place in elementary school.

We are looking for support from the community to help us raise $5,000 to cover costs for food, beverages, awards, prizes, and supplies for this extraordinary event. Volunteers are also needed to assist with setup, activities, and cleanup. Your tax-deductible donation and/or volunteer time are greatly appreciated and essential to the success of the Science Fair. Remember, it takes a village, and a Funhouse, to create magic!
