Electrogenic, a British company that specializes in offering conversion kits for classic cars to be turned into electric vehicles, has recently released its latest model based on the iconic DeLorean DMC-12. The DeLorean DMC-12, made famous by the film series Back to the Future, has not been produced for over 40 years but continues to be recognized as a legendary car.

The conversion kit includes a 160 kW electric motor that significantly improves the acceleration of the DeLorean DMC-12, cutting the time it takes to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in half, to just 5 seconds. The conversion process is non-invasive, meaning there is no need to cut or modify the chassis of the car. It is a simple “plug and play” process that is completely reversible if the owner decides to revert back to gasoline power in the future. The addition of new technologies only adds 40 kilograms to the original weight of the vehicle.

The cost of the conversion kit along with installation ranges between 77,000 and 100,000 euros. However, it is not advisable to connect the Electrogenic-converted DeLorean to lightning, as depicted in the movie. The company’s innovative approach to classic car conversions has garnered attention in the automotive industry.

In addition to their DeLorean DMC-12 conversion kit, Electrogenic has been offering a range of services and products for classic car enthusiasts looking to transition to electric power. Their focus on preserving the nostalgia of classic cars while incorporating modern technology has made them a standout company in the electric vehicle conversion market.
