On Lake Chippewa Flowage near Hayward, a floating bog recently blocked waterways for boaters. This bog, which was 2 acres large and contained 30-foot Tamarack trees, required the assistance of “bog pushers” to be moved. These pushers used their boats to relocate the bog, and one of them explains the process of how it is done, showcasing the unique ability of this Hayward community to move islands, quite literally.
