The Prisons decree approved by the Council of Ministers today includes several key points aimed at improving the management of prisons. One of the highlights is the hiring of more prison managers and police personnel to create a more stable and efficient management chain. This will involve recruiting a thousand more prison police agents to fill staffing shortages and saturate the organic plants after years of disinvestment.

Additionally, the decree aims to simplify and speed up procedures for access to early release for prisoners. There will be an increase in phone calls for prisoners, benefiting those with distant family members who cannot make face-to-face visits. There will also be the creation of a community register, providing a list of communities suitable for the reception and social reintegration of detainees.

The decree also includes measures to streamline procedures for surveillance magistrates, ensuring a more effective reintegration of detainees. It excludes prisoners under certain conditions from restorative justice, and increases the number of weekly and monthly telephone interviews prisoners can have. Overall, the goal is to improve the well-being of prisoners and encourage good behavior within penal institutions.

In conclusion, the Prisons decree aims to create a more efficient and effective prison system by adding staff, simplifying procedures, and increasing communication opportunities for prisoners. These measures are intended to improve the management of prisons and promote the reintegration of detainees into society.
