The Journey of a Young Argentine Entrepreneur: From Trailer Living to Silicon Valley Success

Luis Schilling, the son of a senior executive at the former Banco Río, had a privileged childhood and a strong foundation in education. Raised with a constant drive for self-improvement, Schilling grew up to be an entrepreneur who was always planning for the future while addressing current challenges. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to Silicon Valley, where he gained valuable knowledge and experience from shared experiences and a supportive business environment.

His journey began while studying design at the UBA and working as a cadet at a video company. He founded his first venture, Palermitano Solutions, at the age of 24, focusing on videoconferencing technology. Success in this field led him to expand his business to six countries and 35 cities, attracting clients like Google.

After facing difficulties during the pandemic, Schilling pivoted his business and founded We Install IT, focusing on purchasing and installing customized technology solutions. His innovative approach caught the attention of the Rahi group, leading to the creation of Rahi Latam division. The division quickly grew and was acquired by Wesco, prompting Schilling to start Tropical IT, an e-commerce platform serving Latin America and the US.

With a focus on providing technology solutions for data centers and large companies, Tropical IT has expanded its operations to multiple countries in the region. Similarly, We Install IT continues to thrive in the US market under new leadership, showing steady growth and success.

Schilling’s journey in Silicon Valley has been marked by opportunities for growth and learning. Participating in accelerators and training programs, he honed his skills and earned recognition from prestigious institutions like Goldman Sachs and Watson Semester Accelerator. Through these experiences, Schilling continues to think big and look towards the future as he navigates the ever-changing landscape of the tech industry.
