The Knesset Approves Online Issuance of Sick Leave Certificates

The Parliamentary Commission on Labor and Social Security has approved new regulations from the Ministry of Labor and Welfare that allow for online sickness certificates to be issued to employees without requiring a visit to a doctor. As a result, the current mechanism for issuing sickness certificates from sources other than health insurance funds will be expanded, allowing employers to request verification if they believe a sick leave certificate is unreliable.
