The Remake of The Sands of Time Set for Release in 2026

Ubisoft recently revealed that the highly anticipated remake of “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” will be released in 2026. This ambitious project is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal, with the assistance of several affiliated studios such as Ubisoft Toronto, Ubisoft Bucharest, Ubisoft Paris, and Ubisoft Pune. The official title of the game will simply be “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time”, abandoning the previously planned “Remake” suffix.

The original version of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was released in 2003 and made a lasting impact on the gaming world with its innovative gameplay, captivating storyline, and memorable characters. The game is known for its protagonist’s unique ability to manipulate time, allowing players to rewind, speed up, or slow down the action, adding a strategic element to the gameplay.

Despite the announcement of the release date, Ubisoft has not yet disclosed which platforms the game will be available on. Additionally, Ubisoft announced that the new “Mask of Darkness” DLC for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown will be launched in September 2024, featuring a new expansion to the main story. In the meantime, players can enjoy the free “Divine Trials” update, which includes 22 challenging trials accessible through the Hall of Memorials. These trials feature new stages with platforming, puzzles, and combat, as well as reworked boss battles, rewarding players with new amulets and outfits for completing them.
