Israeli Transport Minister Miri Regev has conducted official visits to five countries in the past year, including Morocco, Georgia, Mexico, India, and Sri Lanka. The Ministry recently revealed the expenses incurred during these visits in response to a request from the Derech Tslakha organization. The total cost of the visits was approximately 1 million shekels, excluding security expenses.
Most significant costs were incurred during the visits to Morocco, where a week-long delegation trip led by Regev amounted to 370 thousand shekels. Other visits cost 255 thousand shekels in India and Sri Lanka, 295 thousand shekels in Mexico, and 164 thousand shekels in Georgia. The Ministry’s transparency in sharing these figures allowed for clarity on taxpayer spending related to these official visits.
