The Steelers ink one-year deal with WR Jacob Copeland

The Steelers announced on Friday that they have signed free agent receiver Jacob Copeland to a one-year contract. Copeland was previously on the Steelers’ practice squad in 2023 after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent. He began his professional career with the Titans but was subsequently released and later signed with the Vikings during training camp. Copeland was then waived by Minnesota before spending time with the Chiefs this offseason.

During his college career, Copeland played at the University of Maryland in 2022, where he recorded 26 receptions for 376 yards and two touchdowns. Prior to that, he spent four seasons at the University of Florida, where he had 86 receptions for 1,366 yards and nine touchdowns.

Copeland’s journey through different NFL teams and his performance in college showcase his talent and potential as a wide receiver. The Steelers signing him to a one-year contract demonstrates their confidence in his abilities and their commitment to adding depth to their receiving corps. It will be interesting to see how Copeland contributes to the team in the upcoming season and what impact he will have on the Steelers’ offense.
