The Edina girls soccer team was dominant throughout the season, led by senior Izzy Engle who was named Ms. Soccer and the Star Tribune’s Metro Player of the Year. Heading into the state tournament as the No. 1 seed, the Hornets were undefeated and on a mission to claim the state title.
In previous years, Edina had fallen short in the state tournament despite being a top contender. Engle scored seven goals in three state tournament games, leading Edina to a perfect 22-0 season and securing the state title.
