The United Nations urges Cyprus to allow migrants trapped in the buffer zone to enter

The United Nations has called on Cyprus to allow over 30 migrants stranded along the buffer zone to apply for asylum, especially as temperatures continue to rise. The island, a member of the European Union, accuses Turkey of turning a blind eye to illegal immigrants crossing the Green Line, which is guarded by the United Nations.

The UNHCR expressed deep concern for the safety and well-being of the asylum seekers, including seven children, who are stranded in the neutral zone.
