The World’s Largest Fish Fry makes a triumphant return, providing meals for thousands of attendees

The 71st annual World’s Biggest Fish Fry returned to Paris, Tennessee on April 20, with the Fish Tent opening on April 24. The Fish Tent is the premier attraction of the event, offering a plate of catfish, fries, coleslaw, beans, hush puppies, and more for a 20 dollar entry fee.

Event Organizer, Josh ‘Smokey’ Taylor, described the Fish Fry as a community-wide event that brings people from all over West Tennessee together. To cater to the thousands of visitors who come to the Fish Tent each year, a large amount of food is required. Taylor mentioned that they have 12 thousand pounds of fish, 3 to 4 thousand pounds of fries, and handmade hush puppies made with a significant amount of flour.

With the amount of food available, they are able to feed approximately 320 people every hour. The World’s Biggest Fish Fry event will continue until Saturday, April 27, with operating hours from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Taylor reassured visitors that as long as they have fish available and people are in line, they will continue serving.

On Friday morning, April 26, the large ‘Fish Fry Parade’ will take place starting on East Wood Street at 10 a.m. For anyone interested in experiencing the World’s Biggest Fish Fry, there is still time to join in on the festivities.
