The Pittsburgh Pirates held their third annual Family Walk to raise awareness for mental health. Participants included friends, players, coaches, and fans who came together to support mental wellness in the community. The event emphasized the importance of acknowledging when one is not okay and seeking help when needed. Programs like AHN and the Chill Mobile were highlighted as resources for those struggling with mental health.

Over 1,000 people participated in the walk, traveling from the riverfront, through the rotunda, concourse, and eventually onto the field. The goal was to raise awareness about mental health, as statistics from the National Alliance of Mental Illness show that nearly 60 million people experienced a form of mental illness in 2021. Pirates pitcher Jared Jones encouraged those struggling to reach out to someone for support.

The Pittsburgh Pirates Family Walk was a meaningful event that brought together the community to promote mental wellness and destigmatize seeking help for mental health challenges. Through partnerships with organizations like AHN and the Chill Mobile, the Pirates are actively working to raise awareness about mental health and offer support to those in need.
