Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman BJ Thompson has been released from the hospital after experiencing a seizure and cardiac arrest during a team meeting. The 25-year-old received CPR from the Chiefs’ staff before being taken to the hospital on Thursday. Thompson’s agent, Chris Turnage, expressed gratitude for the prayers and praised the Chiefs medical and training staff for their quick response and professionalism during the emergency.

In light of the medical incident, the Chiefs cancelled a scheduled practice session, and head coach Andy Reid and players postponed media sessions until Friday. Thompson, a fifth-round draft pick last year, played in one game for the Super Bowl champions last season. He was part of the Chiefs team that visited the White House to celebrate their Super Bowl title just last week.

Currently in their off-season training program, the Chiefs are set to begin a mandatory mini-camp on Tuesday. Thompson’s health scare serves as a reminder of the importance of rapid medical response and the dedication of the team, both on and off the field.
