Three people killed and two injured in shooting near University of Cincinnati campus

Early Monday morning, a shooting near the University of Cincinnati campus resulted in three deaths and two injuries, according to police. Two arrests were made, one of which was of an injured individual. Police recovered multiple firearms at the scene and have two individuals in custody. Cincinnati Police Capt. Mark Burns provided limited information, stating he had no further details.

The university’s public safety department alerted the community to the emergency just before 3 a.m. Initially, they advised people to be vigilant and take necessary action. An hour later, they issued an “all clear” message but mentioned that police would continue to maintain a heavy presence in the area. Reports indicated that officers patrolling the area heard multiple shots and found several individuals with gunshot wounds.
