Three-star athlete Julien Horton quickly made a decision after de-committing from Maryland, and is now a Tar Heel. He visited North Carolina and soon after, he officially committed to the program, adding to Mack Brown’s 2025 class. The 6-foot, 175-pound Horton had 20 offers in his recruitment and initially committed to Maryland. However, North Carolina’s persistence in recruiting paid off and they were able to land him.
Ranked No. 897 nationally, No. 78 as a safety, and No. 22 in Maryland, Horton brings talent to the Tar Heels. His commitment is the 11th for North Carolina in the 2025 recruiting class, which currently ranks No. 41 overall per 247Sports. The Tar Heels still have more targets to pursue in the class, and the recruiting process is still in its early stages.
