Three Sticks Golf Club Hosts HOJGA’s 38th Season Opener

The Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association kicked off its 38th season at Three Sticks Golf Club in Marion with a youth tournament sponsored by Pam Hartman in memory of Charles Emans. In the 16-to-18 age division, Logan Keller from Galion took first place with a score of 2-over-par 62. He secured his win with 11 pars and three birdies. Dawson Hall of Pleasant came in second with a score of 64, followed by Nathan McMullen of Galion in third with a score of 66. Dylan Moore of Pleasant finished fourth with a score of 67, and Matthew Ralph from Buckeye Valley and Jack Seckel from Pleasant tied for fifth with a score of 68.

In the girls 13-to-18 division, Maura Murphy from Pleasant led the pack with a score of 75, followed by her cousin Maddie Murphy in second place with a score of 77. Olivia Ross of Olentangy and Anna Songer of Pleasant tied for third with a score of 87, while Madelyn Taylor from North Union came in fifth with a score of 90. In the 13-to-15 age group, Jace Haunhorst of Buckeye Valley and Clay Rogers of Wynford tied at 69, with Haunhorst winning first place after a one-hole playoff. Sam Snyder of Fairbanks finished third with a score of 72, and there was a three-way tie for fourth place between Liam Rhea of Fairbanks, Bryant Berry of Colonel Crawford, and Drew Thomas of Olentangy, all with a score of 75.

In the 9-hole 12-and-under class, Kolton Crider from Pleasant came out on top with a score of 40, followed by Adam Keller of Colonel Crawford in second place with a score of 41. Raylan Carnes of Marysville and Miri Taylor of North Union tied for third with a score of 46, while Gracie Curtis from Buckeye Valley and Cohen Sisler from Pleasant followed closely behind with scores of 47 and 48, respectively.
