Tiger Woods is back in action on the PGA Tour for this week’s Genesis Invitational, with a new look and a new business venture. The 15-time major champion recently ended his 27-year partnership with Nike, which is believed to have earned him at least $500 million. Now, Woods has unveiled his new apparel brand, Sun Day Red, which will operate under the TaylorMade umbrella. Sun Day Red will be based in San Clemente, California, separate from TaylorMade’s headquarters in Carlsbad.
Sun Day Red will focus on performance wear and luxury lifestyle fashion, producing golf essentials like hats, polos, gloves, shorts, and pants, as well as hoodies, T-shirts, and fleeces. The brand’s main logo is a drawing of a Tiger, replacing the iconic “TW” logo associated with Nike. Woods will begin wearing Sun Day Red during the Genesis Invitational, with the brand set to be available to the public starting May 1.
Despite his new clothing brand, Woods will continue to wear FootJoy shoes for the time being, but footwear is part of Sun Day Red’s long-term plans. While Woods previously had his own line of Nike-branded sports gear, it is unclear whether Sun Day Red will look to sign any professional golfers as clients in the future.
