‘Tis the Season for Science is a holiday event taking place from November 24 to January 7, with activities scheduled daily between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. The Center will offer a variety of holiday-themed events such as “Let it Snow” Planetarium Shows, Laser Light Holiday Shows, Frigid Science Demonstrations, and Winter Wonder STEM activities. More information can be found at coxsciencecenter.org/tis-season.
Admission to the event is $24 for adults, $20 for children, $22 for seniors, and free for members. The Cox Science Center and Aquarium is home to over 100 hands-on educational exhibits, a 10,000-gallon aquarium, a digital planetarium, a Pre-K focused “Discovery Center,” an 18-hole conservation-themed Mini-Golf Course, and a quarter-mile-long outdoor science trail. A highlight of the center is the “Journey Through the Human Brain” exhibit, showcasing cutting-edge neuroscience research.
The Cox Amphitheater at the center hosts daily live science shows, seasonal laser shows, and special event programming. In late 2021, the center received a $20 million gift from Howard and Wendy Cox, leading to a new name and a transformative capital expansion campaign. Construction is set to begin in late summer 2023 with a projected completion date of 2026. To support the center, visit coxsciencecenter.org/support-us.
