The Tennessee Titans signed their entire draft class much quicker this year compared to last year when they didn’t have everyone signed until late July. They announced on Tuesday that they have inked second-round pick, defensive lineman T’Vondre Sweat to his rookie deal, making him the only remaining unsigned draft pick. Sweat has been dealing with an injury and hasn’t participated in practice since rookie minicamp. Head coach Brian Callahan stated that Sweat is expected to be back by training camp at the latest, and could potentially return as early as next week for the end of OTAs.
Sweat is projected to have a starting role in the middle of the defensive line for the 2024 season. Missing practice time as a rookie can hinder his chances of having a significant role right away, but the Titans have limited options beyond Sweat in that position. It is crucial for Sweat to make a speedy recovery and get back on the field to maximize his potential impact. The team will be counting on him to perform at a high level in the upcoming season.
