The NHL’s Western Conference Final begins on Thursday night, with TNT Sports covering Game 1 between the Dallas Stars and the Edmonton Oilers in Dallas. TNT Sports will provide exclusive coverage of the series, including the first-ever NHL DataCast powered by AWS.

This alternative broadcast will be available on linear television on truTV and streaming on Max. It will use real-time data and insights from the NHL’s puck and player tracking system, NHL EDGE, to present a more stat-driven and graphics-filled view of the game. This alternate broadcast will be available for every game of the series.

NHL EDGE IQ powered by AWS is an advanced analytics service that includes data like Face-Off Probability, Opportunity Probability, Ice Tilt (which shows the momentum of the game), and more. Each broadcast will have its own announce team, with Steve Mears providing play-by-play commentary, along with analysis from Colby Armstrong and Mike Kelly.

TNT Sports is committed to providing fans with a unique viewing experience for the Western Conference Final, offering an innovative and informative alternative broadcast alongside the traditional coverage on truTV and Max. This exciting new approach to broadcasting hockey games is sure to enhance the viewing experience for fans of the sport.
