Shawn Hammerbeck, the top prospect in South Dakota, has made his commitment to the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Standing at 6 feet 6 inches and weighing 260 pounds, Hammerbeck is currently playing as an offensive lineman for Winner High School in Winner, SD. Despite receiving offers from Kansas State, Minnesota, and Texas Tech, he ultimately chose to sign with Nebraska.
Although reports suggest that Nebraska is eyeing Hammerbeck as a tackle, there is also speculation that he could potentially play as a defensive lineman. The Huskers initially offered him a scholarship in the spring and he visited the campus officially in April. He returned for another official visit in June before officially committing to Nebraska on July 3rd.
