Top Wisconsin class of 2025 cornerback prospect chooses Minnesota in surprise commitment

Naiim Parrish, a cornerback target for the Wisconsin class of 2025, recently committed to Minnesota following his official visit to the program. Parrish had originally scheduled another official visit to Wisconsin on June 14. Despite this setback for Wisconsin, the program recently secured a commitment from three-star CB Jahmare Washington, the fifth secondary commit in their class.

Parrish, a three-star recruit, is ranked as the No. 1,044 player in the class of 2025 by 247Sports. He is also ranked as the No. 84 athlete and the No. 31 recruit from New Jersey. With Wisconsin’s recent commitment, it is unlikely they will be pursuing many more cornerbacks in this cycle given the quality of commits at the position in their 2023 and 2024 classes.

Minnesota views Parrish’s commitment as a significant win in their rivalry against Wisconsin. Despite the circumstances surrounding his decision, Wisconsin’s class of 2025 currently ranks at No. 13 in the nation, with a solid foundation but lacking the top-end talent seen at the end of their 2024 cycle. On the other hand, Minnesota’s class of 2025 ranks at No. 19 in the nation with 18 committed players, yet to add a composite four-star recruit.
