Traditional Parking Method Reinstated at AmFam Field Until New Technology Issues Are Addressed

Apr 3, 2024

The Brewers’ home opener on Tuesday featured the debut of their new license plate recognition technology. However, some fans experienced issues trying to activate their parking pass due to a server problem. As a result, fans had to be scanned in manually at the game. Rick Schlesinger, the Brewers President of Business Operations, addressed the situation during the game by assuring fans that they would not be cited for parking that night. He mentioned that if the system continued to have issues, they would revert back to the previous year’s method of scanning fans.

Schlesinger also apologized to fans for the inconvenience caused by the technical difficulties. The president of the vendor responsible for the technology, Interstate Parking, released a statement explaining that the connectivity issues were due to a configuration problem with their app, not the fault of the Brewers or the MLB Ballpark App. Interstate Parking is working to correct the issue as quickly as possible so that fans can use the new technology smoothly.

In the meantime, starting with the next game, fans will revert to the traditional parking method where cashiers will scan prepaid passes and accept day-of-game payments upon arrival. This change is temporary until the technology issues are resolved. Interstate Parking once again apologized for the inconvenience fans experienced during the home opener but emphasized that no parking violations were issued to anyone at the game.
