Tranmere Rovers have announced the signing of midfielder Sam Finley on a two-year deal. The 31-year-old joins the club from Bristol Rovers on a free transfer, as his contract with his previous club was set to expire this month. Finley had previously spent time with Fleetwood and Accrington before joining Bristol Rovers.

During his three years at Bristol Rovers, Finley played a key role in helping the club achieve promotion to League One in 2022. He expressed his excitement about joining Tranmere, citing factors such as the club’s size, stadium, fanbase, and proximity to his family as reasons for his decision.

Finley’s signing marks the first transfer for Tranmere boss Nigel Adkins this summer. He met with Adkins last week to discuss the move and was impressed with the facilities at the club’s training ground. Finley is looking forward to the new challenge at Tranmere and is eager to contribute to the team’s success in the upcoming season.
