The Ministry of Science and Technology, led by Minister Huynh Thanh Dat, has been actively working to complete legal documents and promote decentralization in the state management of national science and technology tasks. This was highlighted at the conference on promoting national science and technology programs on June 6.

Currently, the Ministry of Science and Technology oversees 26 national-level programs, including 21 science and technology programs and 5 social science and humanities programs. Minister Dat emphasized the focus on enhancing legal documents and policy mechanisms to support the development of science and technology, removing barriers, and creating favorable conditions for researchers.

Efforts have been made to implement a decentralization mechanism in managing national science and technology tasks, streamlining processes and increasing efficiency. Circulars related to national science and technology tasks have been updated to provide guidance on budgeting, attracting individuals for research, and assigning tasks to organizations and individuals.

Minister Dat urged program steering committee members to prioritize tasks that address urgent societal issues and contribute to national development. Research in various fields, such as education, agriculture, and industry, has led to innovative solutions like smart robots for teaching, AI applications in agriculture, and collaborative robotics in industry.

Deputy Minister Tran Hong Thai called for continued support and advice on program management, as the Ministry accelerates project implementation and enhances the legal framework for effective deployment of national science and technology programs. The focus remains on leveraging research and technology to drive innovation and address key challenges in society.
