Craft breweries are businesses that produce and sell their own beer, and in the United States, there were over 9,000 breweries operating from 2006 to 2022. Currently, there are 59 breweries in South Dakota, one of which is Lost Cabin Beer Company. Founded by home brewers who turned their hobby into a business, Lost Cabin has been operating for eight years and now has locations in Rapid City and Hill City. The co-founders, Jesse Scheitler, talk about their passion for collaborating with local businesses and like-minded individuals.
Lost Cabin offers a wide variety of beers, with 28 on tap in Rapid City and 16 in Hill City. Each brew has a different processing and production time, ranging from two weeks to a month. Their beer is also available in 16-ounce cans at liquor stores across the state. The company takes pride in their dedication to quality and community partnerships, making them a beloved brewery in South Dakota.
