Airline ratings company Skytrax has released its list of the best airlines in the world for 2024. Qatar Airways has taken the top spot, dethroning Singapore Airlines which was the winner in 2023. Notably, no airlines from the US made it into the top 20 rankings.
Qatar Airways has once again been named the best airline in the world by travel industry rating company Skytrax. The World Airline Awards, which surveyed travelers from over 100 countries about their experiences with more than 350 airlines, were announced at a gala in London. Airlines from Asia and the Middle East were dominant in the awards, with the top six spots and 12 of the top 20 spots going to airlines from these regions.
European carriers also performed well in the rankings, accounting for seven of the top 20 spots. Turkish Airlines was the highest-ranked European carrier, coming in at seventh place. Unfortunately, no US-based airlines made it into the top 20, with Delta Air Lines falling to 21st place this year. Delta and United were the only two US airlines to make it into the top 50 rankings.
