Troup County introduces revolutionary LED sports lighting system at Callaway Stadium

The Troup County Board of Commissioners recently completed a lighting upgrade project at Callaway Stadium, which included the installation of a new LED stadium and field lighting system. This upgrade is significant as it is the first lighting upgrade at the stadium since 1958. The new LED lights provide a brighter and more even distribution of light on the playing surface, improving visibility on the field and around the stadium.

Funded by SPLOST 6, the project included the installation of new foundations, poles, bracket mounting arms, LED lights, light racks, and electrical and control systems. The LED system not only enhances the visibility at Callaway Stadium but also includes a new light show entertainment system with color options and emergency egress lighting for the stadium area.

The new LED lights are more efficient than the previous lighting system, requiring only 4 poles instead of 8. This upgrade is expected to help with electricity costs when events are held at the stadium. Additionally, the new lights have the capability to blink and change color, adding to the excitement of games and events at Callaway Stadium.
