Twitter will no longer hide responses from blocked accounts

Twitter has made changes to its account blocking policy to allow users to view responses from people and accounts they have previously blocked on the platform. Blocking accounts on Twitter gives users control over how they interact with others and helps restrict unwanted contact, views, and follows. Previously, when a user blocked another account, the blocked account could still respond to the user’s posts, but the user couldn’t see those responses.

Now, Twitter has updated this feature so that users can see responses to their posts from accounts they have blocked. This change aims to give users the ability to identify and report any inappropriate content that was previously hidden from them. Twitter’s goal is to give users control over their experience while maintaining public visibility of posts.

It’s important to note that Twitter’s owner, Elon Musk, had previously expressed his dislike for the blocking feature and announced plans to remove it, except for direct messages. Despite this, the updated blocking feature now allows users to view responses from previously blocked accounts. Twitter Engineering account emphasized the importance of allowing users to control their experience while still having access to the public forum.
