Two former UNC basketball and soccer standouts are the most recent Tar Heels Inducted into North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame.
Former UNC basketball guard Jerry Stackhouse and UNC soccer offensive lineman Jason Brown had been the most recent former gamers to be honored. They’re his sixty fifth and his 66th members of the North Carolina Sports activities Corridor of Fame and as a coach, participant, administrator or alumni who has been a member of the sports activities media he has some connection to UNC.
Stackhouse performed for the Tar Heels from 1993 to 1995 and was named an All-American in his sophomore 12 months. He went on to play his 18th 12 months within the NBA after being chosen his third total by the Philadelphia 76ers.
After spending time within the NBA G League and serving as an assistant to the Memphis Grizzlies, Stackhouse turned Vanderbilt’s head coach in 2019.
Jason Brown is an excellent middle for the North Carolina soccer crew and was named to the All-ACC First Workforce in 2004. He performed seven seasons with the Ravens and later with the St. Louis Rams.
Brown and Stackhouse are amongst 15 winners within the 2023 class.
Inductees will likely be honored on the 59th Annual Induction Celebration on Friday, April 21 at 7:00 pm on the Raleigh Conference Heart.
