Virna Jandiroba vs. Amanda Lemos was originally scheduled for a three-round bout, but it has been upgraded to a five-round main event. The strawweight contender bout is set to headline the UFC Fight Night event on July 20 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Jandiroba holds a record of 14-3-1 in MMA, with an 8-3 record in the UFC. Lemos, on the other hand, has a record of 20-3 in MMA, with a 6-3 record in the UFC.
Jandiroba is coming off consecutive wins against Angela Hill, Marina Rodriguez, and Loopy Godinez. She has a 6-2 record in her last eight fights, with her only losses coming against Mackenzie Dern and Amanda Ribas. Lemos is looking to build on her momentum after a win against Mackenzie Dern in February. The victory was a unanimous decision, bouncing her back into the win column after a failed title bid against Zhang Weili in August.
The updated July 20 lineup includes other exciting bouts such as Tracy Cortez vs. Miranda Maverick, Bill Algeo vs. Doo Ho Choi, and Brad Tavares vs. Jun Yong Park. Fans can also expect to see Trey Ogden vs. Loik Radzhabov, Kurt Holobaugh vs. Kaynan Kruschewsky, and Cody Gibson vs. Brian Kelleher on the fight card. Additionally, Luana Carolina vs. Lucie Pudilova, Hyder Amil vs. Jeong Yeong Lee, Cody Durden vs. Bruno Silva, and Thomas Petersen vs. Mohammed Usman are set to take place.
