The fashionistas in Lewistown recommend wearing a stylish hat to the races, with the suggestion that “the fancier the better” according to Colette Hartzler, the executive director of the United Way of Mifflin-Juniata. The Night at the Races event will take place at the Moose Family Center on January 27, 2024. Hartzler and her assistant attended a similar event at the Lewistown Country Club last year and found it to be a lot of fun.
A Night at the Races is a fun-filled evening that includes a Kentucky Derby hat contest, Just Ducky elimination game, live auction race, and 50/50 raffle. The event recreates the racetrack atmosphere with video horse racing. Tickets cost $40 per person or $75 per table and include a horse, food, and one drink, with a cash bar available. Hartzler hopes to see a good turnout for the United Way fundraiser and is looking forward to the event.
