He currently has a fifth-year option contract worth $14.1 million for the 2024 season, but reportedly wants $30 million or more per year. This has resulted in a contract standoff between Aiyuk and the 49ers.
The recent contract extensions signed by other wide receivers, such as Justin Jefferson, A.J. Brown, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Jaylen Waddle, have helped set new standards for the position. Jefferson’s deal, averaging $35 million per year, made him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL. Aiyuk’s performance last season, with 75 receptions for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns, further bolsters his case for a lucrative extension.
