Phillies injury updates were provided on Turner, Marte, and Marchan on NBC Sports Philadelphia. Trea Turner, who suffered a hamstring strain 22 days ago, ran at a higher intensity at Coors Field on Saturday as part of his rehab process. According to Manager Rob Thomson, Saturday was expected to be a “heavy day” for Turner, including running, fielding grounders, and hitting in the batting cage. Depending on Turner’s response to the work on Saturday, the next step in his recovery could involve running the bases in San Francisco where the Phillies play next week. The team is being cautious with Turner to prevent any aggravation of his hamstring injury.

Additionally, right-handed reliever Yunior Marte began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Lehigh Valley after being sidelined since May 1 due to right shoulder inflammation. Marte has a 2.70 ERA in 12 appearances this season and the Phillies are taking their time with his recovery process to ensure he is fully healthy before returning to the team. Third-string catcher Rafael Marchan, who has experienced injuries over the last three seasons, is about two weeks into his rehab assignment. Marchan has been performing well, catching a lot of games and swinging the bat effectively. He is an important depth piece for the Phillies if they were to lose one of their catchers, J.T. Realmuto or Garrett Stubbs, to injury. Aramis Garcia had been catching games at Triple-A but has struggled at the plate with a .172 batting average.
