Marchan has been performing well, catching a lot of games and swinging the bat effectively. He is an important depth piece for the Phillies if they were to lose one of their catchers, J.T. Realmuto or Garrett Stubbs, to injury. Aramis Garcia had been catching games at Triple-A but has struggled at the plate with a .172 batting average.
