After spending eight seasons with the Giants, Sterling Shepard, a veteran wide receiver, has officially joined a new NFL team. Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reported that Shepard is signing with the Buccaneers today. The 31-year-old wide receiver will be reuniting with his former Oklahoma teammate, quarterback Baker Mayfield, in Tampa Bay.

During their time at Oklahoma, Shepard and Mayfield had a successful connection on the field. In 2015, when Mayfield became the starter for the team, Shepard was his go-to receiver and they had a strong partnership. Despite Shepard’s age and recent performance, he will have the opportunity to prove himself with the Buccaneers.

In the past season, Shepard played in 15 games but his stats were not as impressive as in previous years. He caught only 10 passes for 57 yards, leading some to question his value to a new team. However, with his history of success with Mayfield, Shepard may have a chance to make the Tampa Bay roster and showcase that he still has the skills and determination to contribute to the team.
