Vikings to debut ‘Winter Warrior’ all-white alternate uniforms in Week 15

The Minnesota Vikings have been in the news this week as they recently signed receiver Justin Jefferson to a lucrative $140 million contract. To continue making headlines, the team has unveiled their fancy alternate uniforms called “Winter Warrior.” These all-white uniforms will be worn during the team’s Week 15 Monday night game against the Chicago Bears on Dec. 16.

In a social media post, the Vikings showcased their new alternate look in a video featuring players such as Jefferson, Aaron Jones, Harrison Smith, and more. The video depicted the players in the crisp, icy uniforms in an arctic setting, giving off a Fortress of Solitude vibe similar to the one from “Superman: The Movie” in 1978. The “Winter Warrior” uniform is primarily white, with purple outlining the Viking horn logo on the helmet and silver and purple stripes on the shoulders and the pantlines.

The jersey numbers are purple with a silver outline, and the nameplates are all purple, eliminating any gold from the look. The design has drawn comparisons to the Las Vegas Raiders’ road uniforms due to its white, silver, and black color scheme, but the purple accents are unique to the Vikings. Head coach Kevin O’Connell joked about wanting his own all-white warmup jumpsuit to match the players.

The “Winter Warrior” idea has been in development for two years, with positive feedback from fans helping to finalize the design. Vikings creative director Alicia Dreyer stated that fans loved the concept and influenced the team’s decision to go with an all-white helmet. Although the Vikings play indoors at U.S. Bank Stadium, the thought of them playing in the snow with these new uniforms is an exciting prospect for players and fans alike.
