VIZIO partners with Amagi to debut cutting-edge stream technology

Amagi, the global leader in cloud-based SaaS technology for broadcast and Connected TV (CTV), has successfully showcased its Zero Slate technology on VIZIO’s WatchFree+ channels. This technology is part of Amagi’s Stream Personalisation initiative and enhances the streaming experience by dynamically adjusting the length of ad breaks on a per-viewer basis. By eliminating the need for slates or filler content, Amagi is revolutionizing the advertising experience for viewers.

This new approach to digital streaming focuses on personalizing the viewing experience for each individual viewer. The Zero Slate technology has already increased viewership on VIZIO’s channels by more than 20 percent, demonstrating its effectiveness in engaging audiences. This innovation sets the stage for a more profitable and engaging future for entertainment, creating a more immersive experience for viewers.

Data from Amagi ANALYTICS shows that traditional slates used to fill unsold ad slots may contribute to viewer churn in the Free Ad-supported Streaming TV (FAST) ecosystem. The success of Zero Slate highlights the potential of personalizing ad pod lengths to increase viewer engagement and improve the overall viewing experience. This technology is just the beginning of Amagi’s Stream Personalisation capabilities, which aim to transform linear viewing experiences for audiences.

VIZIO’s Group Vice President of Platform Content and Partnerships, Katherine Pond, praised the partnership with Amagi and the introduction of Zero Slate technology on their channels. This collaboration reflects VIZIO’s commitment to enhancing user experiences and delivering personalized content to viewers. Amagi’s Co-founder and Chief Revenue Officer, Srinivasan KA, expressed gratitude for the partnership and excitement about the future of Stream Personalisation in revolutionizing the linear viewing experience.
