Chris Tsirlis, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, has been given the role of vice president of business development and product innovation at Airbus U.S. Space & Defense’s government solutions division, which is focusing on the creation of satellite communications and networking systems.
On Sunday, Tsirlis shared the news of his appointment at Airbus DS Government Solutions through a LinkedIn post. As part of his new position, he will be collaborating with a team of experts to push forward the development of satcom technologies in order to support the mission-critical workloads of customers.
Before joining Airbus, Tsirlis worked at Microsoft as a technical product manager and solutions architect, where his work was centered around edge platforms for space/5G and hybrid cloud networks.
Throughout his career, Tsirlis spent over thirty years in the Marine Corps, where he held various senior information technology leadership roles, including director of IT, commanding officer of Marine Wing Communications Squadron 28, and IT operations officer for III Marine Expeditionary Unit G-6.
