On Friday, Walmart announced the closure of its health clinic and telehealth service, citing an unsustainable business model. The retail giant stated that it will be shutting down its 51 Walmart Health locations in five states, including 23 stores in Florida. Walmart had initially launched these health offerings in 2019, but has now determined that there is not a viable way to continue operating them.

One of the challenges that Walmart faced was difficulty with insurance reimbursement, contributing to the decision to close the health clinics. As a result of the closures, the company recommended that patients look into ZocDoc and Healthgrades to find new healthcare providers. They also informed patients that they will have the option to obtain or transfer their health records.

While Walmart Health locations will be closing down, the company emphasized that their pharmacies and vision centers will remain open for customers. Patients seeking healthcare services will need to seek out alternative providers, as Walmart will not be providing contact information for new providers or information about future practices.
