Pakistan secured their first victory of the tournament against Canada after suffering back-to-back defeats to the USA and India. In Tuesday’s game, Canada was restricted to 106-7 after being asked to bat first. Pakistani bowler Mohammad Amir was awarded the Player of the Match for his three-wicket haul, while Muhammad Rizwan scored a fifty in the seven-wicket win.
Captain Babar Azam expressed relief at the much-needed victory, stating, “It’s good for us – we needed this win.” He also mentioned plans to change their mindset for the upcoming match against Ireland and to deliver their best performance in Lauderhill, Florida, where the conditions are more favorable.
