Webinar held by Broome County Industrial Development Agency on proposed technology park

The Broome County Industrial Development Agency, also known as IDA, hosted a public information webinar on Tuesday, June 25 to explain the review and design process for the proposed Broome Technology Park in the towns of Maine and Union. The technology park will be situated between East Maine Road and Airport Road, with the project scheduled to continue into 2025. During the webinar, leaders from the IDA, along with experts in the field, shared the project’s objectives and discussed how the environmental review and ongoing community engagement will shape its future.

Stacey Duncan, the Executive Director of the Broome County IDA, emphasized the importance of developing this tech park in our region. She noted, “This provides us an opportunity to position ourselves at the center of where private investment, job creation, and new companies are making significant investments in communities.” The IDA plans to host an open house on August 6th to address any questions or concerns from the community regarding the tech park project. All information about the project will be available on the project’s website.

Overall, the IDA is working diligently to bring the Broome Technology Park to fruition, with a focus on driving economic growth, creating job opportunities, and attracting new businesses to the area. Through thorough review processes and collaboration with the community, the IDA aims to ensure that the tech park benefits both Broome County and its residents.
