The Buffalo Museum of Science is offering free admission to students who have Wednesday off from school for Juneteenth. Sponsored by the Independent Health Association, a Community Health Day will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the museum located at 1020 Humboldt Parkway. This annual event will feature outdoor activities, giveaways, and access to Independent Health’s community partners such as University at Buffalo PREPARE, GObike Buffalo, and Buffalo Lafayette Optimist Club.
Various health and wellness information will be provided by partners like the UB School of Nursing, School of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, and Blue Flag Memorial Project. Families in the area can take advantage of this opportunity to visit the museum’s interactive exhibits and galleries at no cost. Additionally, the museum’s rooftop will be open for solar viewing until 3 p.m., weather permitting, with the museum closing at 4 p.m.
Organizers expect over 1,500 guests to attend the event, which aims to provide educational resources and a fun experience for all participants. More information can be found on the museum’s website at sciencebuff.org.
