Wehiwa’s Brother, Kuhio Aloy, to Join Arkansas Baseball Team

Kuhio Aloy, the younger brother of Arkansas baseball shortstop Wehiwa, recently announced his decision to transfer to play for the Razorbacks in 2025. This news was shared by Aloy himself on social media with an enthusiastic message that showed his excitement for this new chapter in his athletic career.

Aloy’s freshman season at BYU was quite impressive as he batted .269 with 9 doubles, 1 triple, 8 home runs, and a team-high 38 RBI. His performance earned him a spot on this year’s Big 12 All-Freshman team, showcasing his talent and potential as a player. With notable rankings in home runs, RBI, and sacrifice flies, Aloy established himself as a key player for the Cougars.

Starting 46 games as the designated hitter and four games at first base, Aloy displayed his versatility on the field. His stats reflected his solid performance with a .447 slugging percentage and .329 on-base percentage, resulting in an OPS of .776. Aloy’s exceptional skills were evident from the beginning, with two home runs in his first two collegiate games at the MLB Desert Invitational.

The Aloy brothers, who previously played together at Baldwin High School in Wailuku, Hawaii, have both excelled in their baseball careers. While Wehiwa Aloy received recognition as a Freshman All-American and Western Athletic Conference freshman of the year at Sacramento State in 2023, Kuhio Aloy is now ready to make his mark at Arkansas alongside his brother.

It’s worth noting that Arkansas could potentially have three native Hawaiians on their roster in 2025, with the addition of infielder Nolan Souza from Honolulu. This influx of Hawaiian talent reflects the diverse and skilled players who will contribute to the Razorbacks’ success in the coming seasons.
