West Brom midfielder Alex Mowatt has officially signed a new two-year contract with the club. The 29-year-old, who started his career with Leeds United, was offered the new deal in May as his previous contract was set to expire in June. The new agreement includes an appearance-related clause that could potentially extend his contract for an additional 12 months. Mowatt has made 84 appearances for West Brom since joining from Barnsley in 2021, scoring six goals in all competitions.

During his time with West Brom, Mowatt spent a season on loan with Championship rivals Middlesbrough, but returned to The Hawthorns the following season. Despite interest from other clubs, Mowatt expressed his happiness at remaining with West Brom, stating that his decision to stay was made as soon as the previous season ended. The midfielder shared his excitement about continuing his journey with the club, emphasizing his love for the team and the fans. Mowatt’s commitment to West Brom has been solidified with the signing of this new contract, and he is looking forward to contributing to the club’s success in the future.
