West Ham United has officially signed goalkeeper Wes Foderingham from Sheffield United on a free transfer. The 33-year-old has joined the Hammers on a two-year contract after his contract with Sheffield United came to an end.

Foderingham, who was born in Hammersmith, expressed his excitement about joining West Ham in an interview with the club’s official website. He mentioned that he was keen to sign with the club as soon as he heard of their interest in him and is thrilled to be part of the team. Foderingham highlighted the passionate and supportive fanbase of West Ham, noting that playing for a club with such dedicated supporters makes the experience even better.

Having previously played for teams with strong fan bases, Foderingham feels that West Ham’s supporters will add to his experience with the club. He acknowledged the recent success the club has had in both European competitions and the Premier League and believes he is joining the team at a positive and exciting time.

Foderingham spent four years at Sheffield United, making over 100 appearances for the team, including 30 in the Premier League last season. He is now looking forward to competing with Łukasz Fabiański and Alphonse Areola for the starting goalkeeper position in Julen Lopetegui’s restructured West Ham team.
