Wes Foderingham, who previously won the Scottish Championship with Rangers in 2015-16, has signed a two-year contract with West Ham. The goalkeeper will officially join the Hammers on 1 July after his contract at Sheffield United expires. Foderingham, 33, made 30 appearances for Sheffield United, who were relegated from the Premier League last season.

Foderingham expressed his excitement about joining West Ham, citing the club’s passionate fanbase as a key factor in his decision. He believes that joining the club at this time is positive and feels proud to be a part of the team.

Having spent four seasons at Sheffield United, Foderingham has had previous spells with Rangers, Swindon, Crystal Palace, and Fulham. His signing with West Ham marks the second addition to the team under new manager Julen Lopetegui, following the arrival of Brazilian winger Luis Guilherme.

West Ham’s technical director Tim Steidten is pleased to have Foderingham join the team, highlighting the goalkeeper’s experience at the highest level in the Premier League. He believes that Foderingham will be a valuable addition to the first team goalkeeping unit and will benefit Alphonse Areola and Lukasz Fabianski. With goalkeeping coach Xavi Valero guiding them, Steidten is confident that Foderingham will enhance the team’s goalkeeping squad.
