In just 50 days, Georgia Tech will kick off the 2024 college football season against Florida State in Dublin, Ireland. This highly anticipated matchup will feature the defending ACC Champions facing off against one of the ACC’s surprise teams from the previous year, who will be returning many key starters from their successful campaign.

Last season marked a successful debut for head coach Brent Key, as he led the Yellow Jackets to a 7-6 record, securing their first bowl game appearance since 2018 and their first bowl game victory since 2016. Despite facing challenges along the way, Key’s leadership was instrumental in the team’s achievements.

Recently, CBS Sports released their ACC Coaching Rankings for the upcoming 2024 season, with Key being ranked as the 13th best coach in the conference. This ranking placed him ahead of notable coaches such as Justin Wilcox, Troy Taylor, Tony Elliott, and Fran Brown. Dabo Swinney claimed the top spot in the rankings, followed by Mike Norvell, Dave Doeren, Jeff Brohm, and Dave Clawson.

Looking ahead, Key is determined to improve his team’s performance and climb the coaching ranks. The Yellow Jackets face a challenging schedule this season, with Key making significant changes to the defensive coaching staff and bringing in new players through the transfer portal to address defensive weaknesses from the previous year. With these adjustments and Key’s leadership, there is optimism for Georgia Tech to continue progressing and achieve higher rankings in the future.
