What you should know about the expanding business district in Birmingham

Last week, REV Birmingham announced significant changes to the expansion of the Business Improvement District (BID) in downtown Birmingham’s Five Points South and the Switch district. These updates present more opportunities for a better Birmingham.

BID is a collection of small projects aimed at improving the city, providing services such as security, graffiti removal, marketing programs, and other initiatives. Last year, Bham Now reported on the expansion of BID to Five Points South and the Switch district.

To address questions and concerns about the expansion and its benefits for business owners, REV Birmingham will be hosting a series of town halls in Five Points and the Switch. The meetings will provide information and insights for the community to better understand the role of BID in these districts.

Rima Patel, co-owner of Birmingham Apothecary and a new Downtown BID board member, believes that the services provided by BID, particularly the introduction of CAP, will bring lasting change to these districts. She encourages community members to participate in the town hall meetings to learn more about how they can contribute to and benefit from the expansion.
